Hola!!! I had changes. I am now in San Miguelito, in the area La Paz. My comp. is Elder Villagra from Costa Rica. I had to pack all my stuff last night and both of my suitcases were full and super heavy. The Branch Pres. in Caimitillo gave us a ride to the church in la Cabima where our zone meets...

I don't know too much about this new zone but there appears to be a lot of hills.

I don't think i have written yet about Carnaval. That big party thing they do in Rio de Janiero? in Brazil, they also do it here in Panama this coming weekend. I think the missionaries have to stay in their houses the whole day for 3 or 4 days....

anyways I will try to send a foto, but have a great week, and I will write more about this new zone and area next week.

Have a great week...
Love,
Elder Niendorf

First of February (Sent on February 1, 2010)

Buenos Días,
So my week was pretty good. It seems wierd that this will be the last week in this change. I have a hard time remmebering things that have happened in the week to write about....
But concerning food, I have now twice eaten saus, which is pig feet.

Yesterday in church I had to give a talk because the counselor didn't show up and hadn't assigned any speakers... I talked about the need of a Savior, and I think it went well...

I have been learning and growing in my knowledge of the Gospel. I like studying a lot still, and I'm finishing Helaman and am in Phillipians...
This Zone that I'm in is often referred to as the zona de castigo, because there are not very many baptisms...
In my area (and a couple others) there is a difficulty in unity in the ward...
But we are working hard. We try to teach principles that uplift the less acvtives, but they don't seem to make the changes needed. We don't seem to get past the first lesson very often, because the people never seem 'to have time' to read. Though, I understand the culture is a bit different, and the people often get up early to work and return late...
Yet the things concerning God are the most important things, since those are the things which rise with us after death.

Well, I guess I will write next week after changes, but from what I hear, the first area will often last for 4 changes....

Love,
Elder Niendorf
